Fractional Lasers PDF Print E-mail

Fractional Laser achieves their effects by a revolutionary new process called fractional resurfacing.  This may be either non-ablative or ablative.

Instead of treating the entire skin surface, the laser treats just a fractional percentage of the skin’s surface, thereby allowing the skin to heal a few days after treatment to minimize downtime.

  • Fractional lasers are effective in treating scars (acne, surgical, trauma, burn), damage due to sun exposure, wrinkles and melasma.

Review of Scars

  • Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin after injury.
  • Scar tissue is of inferior functional quality to the tissue it replaces.
